The History Behind Tyson Development

Paul T. Seivert of Tyson Development has followed a family tradition by becoming a General Contractor. Paul’s father George, and his uncle Dan, started a company, Seivert Construction, and have been in operation for over 38 years. The first contractor in the Seivert family was Frank Seivert, Paul’s grandfather. Frank had a painting and decorating company from 1929 – 1964. Frank's company, Seivert Paint & Decorating, has contracted work on such structures as The Arizona Biltmore, Westward Ho, Luke and Williams Air Fields, Saint Mary’s Basilica, and Del Webb Developments.
George Seivert asked Paul at a young age what he wanted to do with himself as an adult. Paul stated, "I want to build." George was excited with that answer. It was intriguing to Paul when George would drive him around and show him all of the Seivert projects. Paul’s family goes back three generations in the greater Phoenix area (both sides of his family and in-laws). He thought that he would use the strong family background in construction and carry on the tradition. Since he has been around construction all of his life, it has come naturally.

Paul has been building custom homes in Phoenix for over 15 years. He really gets true enjoyment when somebody asks him his name and they either know his direct family, cousins or in-laws. He enjoys living in this town and will be honored when he can show his children all of the Seivert projects spanning over three generations.
